How We Work
See your landscape in 3D before you spend a dollar building it
Every A-Z project is designed, walked through and approved in photoreal 3D before a shovel touches the ground. Here is exactly how that works — and why it protects your money.

Why It Matters
The most expensive words in landscaping are “I thought it would look different.”
A landscape is one of the largest purchases a homeowner makes, and it is almost always bought from a sketch, a mood board and a verbal description. That gap between what the contractor pictured and what the homeowner pictured is where change orders, disappointment and disputes come from.
Photoreal 3D closes the gap. When you can stand at your own back door in the model and look at the finished patio at the real scale, on your real grade, against your real house, there is nothing left to misinterpret. You are not approving an idea — you are approving the actual outcome.
It also protects the budget. Every change made in the model is free. Every change made after excavation costs material, labour and time. Designing properly first is the single cheapest thing you can do on a landscape project.

The Process
Six steps from first call to finished landscape
No stage is skipped and no stage is rushed. This is the same process on a courtyard and on an estate.
Free on-site consultation & measured survey
We visit your property, listen to how you actually want to live outdoors, and take real measurements — grades, drainage falls, tree positions, service locations, sight lines from the windows you look through most. This is not a salesperson with a clipboard. The survey becomes the base model everything else is built on, which is why our designs fit the site instead of fighting it.
Concept design & material palette
We lay out the spaces first — where you cook, gather, swim, park and plant — then attach materials to them. You see paving stone, natural stone and porcelain options side by side against your home's brick and roof colour, rather than trying to imagine them from a two-inch sample in a showroom.
Photoreal 3D design & walkthrough
This is the step most contractors skip. We build your property in 3D and walk you through the finished space at eye level, in daylight and at night with the lighting on. You will see the real proportions of that patio, how the steps meet the door, and whether the pergola blocks the view. Changes here cost nothing. The same changes after excavation cost thousands.
Revisions until it is right
Almost nobody approves the first version, and they should not have to. Move the fire lounge, widen the patio, swap the coping, add a privacy screen — we revise the model until what you are looking at is what you genuinely want. Because the model is built on a measured survey, every revision stays buildable rather than becoming a pretty picture we cannot deliver.
Fixed, itemized proposal
Once the design is approved you receive a detailed, line-by-line proposal: excavation depth, base build-up, materials by product name, drainage, lighting, planting and labour. You can compare it against another quote on substance instead of a single bottom-line number. The figure we shake on is the figure you pay — no surprise change orders.
Build, walkthrough & warranty
Our own in-house crews execute the build with a dedicated project lead on site, so there is one person accountable from first cut to final sweep. We hand over a finished, cleaned-up property, walk you through care and maintenance, and back the workmanship with a multi-year warranty.

Good to Know
3D landscape design — your questions
Prefer to just talk it through? Call (416) 846-5893 — no obligation.
The on-site consultation, the measured survey and the design work that leads to your proposal are provided at no charge and with no obligation. We do this because it is the most reliable way for both sides to know exactly what is being built before anyone commits — it removes the guesswork that causes disputes later. There is no fee and no pressure, and you are under no obligation to proceed after seeing the design.
Most homeowners see their first 3D concept within one to two weeks of the site visit, depending on the size of the project and how busy the season is. Revisions usually take a few days each. Larger estate projects involving engineering, grading plans or permits take longer. You will be given a realistic timeline at the consultation rather than an optimistic one we cannot hold.
Very little. A walk around the property, an honest conversation about how you want to use the space, and a rough sense of your budget range. The budget conversation matters more than people expect — it lets us design something buildable for you rather than presenting a beautiful concept that turns out to be double what you wanted to spend.
Yes, though the earlier the better. Changes inside the 3D model are free and unlimited. Once we are on site, changes mean re-work: material already delivered, base already compacted, or a wall already laid. That is exactly why we invest so heavily in the design stage — it is far cheaper to move something on screen than in the ground.
No. We revise the design until it is genuinely right for you. A design you only half-like is a project neither of us will be proud of, and it usually surfaces as expensive changes mid-build. We would rather spend an extra week in the model than a week rebuilding a patio.
That is fine — tell us and we will keep it simple. For smaller, well-defined projects such as a walkway replacement or a section of fencing, a straightforward itemized quote is often all that is needed. The full 3D process earns its keep on larger, multi-element projects where the layout decisions carry real money.
